Anchored at the harbor Serangan of Bali, the classic sailing yacht welcomes us onboard for a delightful lunch. Once stepped on the spacious and light upper deck of the ship we immediately get the holiday feeling. From the open deck there is a 360 view overlooking the sea. The ship has a luxurious and classic look and feel with her smoothly polished teak wood. The deck is designed for full leisure, comfy cushioned benches offer little getaways and the large table for dinners under the stars surrounded by nature. In the evening the deck turns into a cocktail lounge!
Mutiara Laut combines classic European craftsmanship and Asian fusion in an elegantly interior design with details of Indonesian artisans. The 36sqm saloon area consist of a sumptuous lounge and dining area. There is a library and an entertainment centre, where you can chill-out and watch a movie, this area is also used for diving courses onboard.
A stairway with hand-crafted pillars leads us to the staterooms on the lower deck. A beautiful hallway of gleaming timber brings us into seven guest cabins. The rooms are beautifully designed with a Balinese look and feel. Each room provided with ensuite bathrooms and comfortable twin or double king-size beds. Mutiara Laut feels like a floating luxury hotel to us!
There is also a vip suite at the stern of the vessel. It is spacious yet elegant, with a storage space and walk-in wardrobe, a desk with natural light flowing in trough the large windows. The bathrooms all come with hair dryer, amenities and ample power outlets.
Lunch is ready and we make our way back to the sunny upper-deck. The table is set and the chef provides us with a five star dining experience. With attention to detail the dishes are displayed. Colorful and tasty with a mix of Asian and Western cuisine. This gives us a good impression of the excellent service onboard of Mutiara Laut!

The “Mutaira Laut” was born from the dream of a man named Leo van Oostenbrugge, a Dutch native, who had spend his career navigating the oceans of the world. At his own wharf, he quickly became a famous builder of small luxury sailing yachts. The adventurer decided to build his own sailing yacht the “Mutiara Laut”, which translates to “Pearl of the Sea”.

The design is based on that of an 18th century North Atlantic schooner combined with local Indonesian influence, known as the traditional “Phinisi”. With the streamlined hull and massive sails the “Mutiara Laut” is excellent for upwind performance.
